Got up this morning and was really ready to go to the first day of traction therapy. Got there and went in and signed the registration book and had just sat down and they called my name. But it was only to tell me that my appointment was for 9:00. I thought it was for 9:30. I swear I am going to start blaming this on the meds. Used to blame it on the pain........
Oh well have checked the schedule and I go for next time at 3 on Monday so everyone remind me!!!!!

Hi Mary Anne, http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif

Here is a reminder for you, please don't forget about your appointment for tomorrow http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

You are not losing your mind, I never used to forget anything before all of this back crap, now I even forget to look at my reminder notes http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bang.gif

Have a super Sunday,
Baxter http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif

Two level laminectomy fusion L5-S1 & L2-3 done on 12/6/02.
Fifteen inch scar from the very top of butt crack (sorry), to the bra line.
BAK cages, rods & screws.(Titanium)
My pelvic bone was used for grafting.
Praying that the other two discs in between, won't have to be fused later, as I was told it was a possibility, due to the other two discs in between, not being in that great of shape.
Doc didn't want to fuse four levels, unless it is really necessary.
I would hate to repeat the surgery, as the recovery period, is so very painful.
I also have a free fragment in my T11-12 area, that I'm still refusing surgery for, at this point in time.
That surgery is way too dangerous for me to consider, until if affects my being able to walk.

Hello. I am new to this discussion board and your message is the first I read...and totally relate to the memory loss. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/confused.gif
It may be the meds, but I don't think so. Perhaps it is the stress of living in pain. I have the same problem, whether I am taking meds or not. I feel like I am getting senile sometimes and it is quite embarrassing! I am almost always distracted by the pain though....

ok today it the day! I have checked the appointment time twice now and it is at 3:00!!!!! Am at work right now and had to take a vicodin about two hours ago and hasn't even started yet! Of course Mondays at the post office are the pits with two days worth of mail and by closing time am so ready to go home, so maybe it will help being in traction today, will hopefully be albe to have good news later today. Thanks Baxter for the reminder!!!

Hi All...

hehe I am still laughing with what Baxter said... "I forget to read my reminder notes too". hahahaha yep, me too! I'd forget to read my calendar, everything. teehee http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif It's the pain folks...more than the meds. Since my pain is negligible most of the time, I am no longer forgetful. As my pain goes up...so does my forgetfulness. Then it gets REALLY bad after taking the meds (I forget spaces of time) instead of just "forgetting to do something". Forgetting what I was talking about mid-sentence....love that one too. hehe what was I talking about? teehee http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

It gets better...you aren't going senile and it isn't permanent (at least it wasn't for me). Keep the faith.

I know what you mean! Ever get half way out the back door and realize you had meant to put that gallon jug of milk in your hand in the fridge, not outside?????????
As I start to work every day, I go thru this checklist, office keys, teeth, glasses.........
