I was wondering if anyone has experienced this: It's a cotton like feeling in the back of my throat which won't come up or go down no matter how many times I swallow. I've tried gargling, brushing the back of my tongue, (which makes me gag), I've even gotten to the point of trying to scrape off the irritation in my throat. It's not itchy, it doesn't burn, it's not sore at all; it's just really annoying and i don't know if it is allergies or what. I've had it for about 2 months now and came on all of a sudden. I also broke out in red bumps on my face at the same time. I went to the doctor for that and she told me I had adult acne, she didn't know what the irritation was in my throat though. So i was wondering if anyone might know if the 2 symptoms might be related since they came to me at the same time and if anyone knows what I can do about it. I bought the Proactive Acne Solution (going on week 4) and not seeing much improvement on that, but that's for the Acne forum I suppose. Help please....thanks.

how does this feeling. feel when eating is it worse ?Is the feeling constant?
I wondered if food has marked your throat although 2 months would be a long time.but could last up to a month if a scab formed.
would be interested to hear more.what were you doing when you noticed it .was you eating? if so what?

Bladerunner, Umm yeah this has been an ongoing problem and isn't there only when I eat. I also noticed on the back of my tongue a few bumps that are a bit red. The feeling is hard to explain. If you've eaten sunflower seeds before and after chewing and swallowing them, it feels like the little grains of seeds left are on the inside walls of my throat. I have no idea what I was doing when this came on. It just happened one day. I have currently moved to a new location and was under a deal of stress. I thought maybe stress was the problem, but now that I've been settled in the new place and new job, I don't feel the stress. Remember, I also broke out in red bumps and some whiteheads on my face only, which the doctor said was adult acne (I am 26 years old). I don't know if the 2 problems I am having are related since they came on about the same time (during the move).
I read in an old post that someone has had the same sort of symptoms as me except the acne and they were given antibiotics which didn't work for them.
I heard of a procedure where the doctor can numb your throat and put a tiny sized camera down the throat to see what is going on.
Man, it really is uncomfortable and at times I feel it's a little hard to breathe too. **Gee, I must sound like a basketcase, but someone has to have had this before** LOL

It does sound like there is something there ,thats causing the feeling.
Yes you can have a camera down your throat and it would show anything there. At least you would know .As you say it doesnt sound like stress any more.I certainly dont think you are a basketcase (mind you you could be)
(joke)
I have a strange condition throat wise and I do know how uncumfortable it is when it doesnt feel right, especialy the part where you make a swallow.
It sounds to me like its getting you down now so get it checked is my advice
Best of Luck (post back here if you get an answer)

Woah - finally I find a site where someone other than me is experiencing strange symptoms, that came simultaneously, and are unexplainable! I too have a feeling of *stuff* stuck in my throat constantly. I have had a throat culture taken twice since Feb. to check for Strep - both negative. Meanwhile, in March - practically overnight - I developed a rash on my arms primarily. At first it was on my lower legs, my neck and chin, and my lower arms. Been to my doc 4 times, and a dermatologist. There was suspicion that it was a reaction to medicine I had begun taking in October (and had a reation 5 months later  ) Anyway - I am dreading the summer, as heat makes the rash worse. I have given up on the throat stuff - but the rash is driving me batty. But I believe that there is a reason for all of it, even if noone seems to know what it is. :p
