I'm still coughing up some green phlegm, bu twhat's really making me feel awful is my throat. It's been sore for so long I can't even remember when it started. My left gland in particular is very swollen, and my tonsils and throat are itchy, as are my inner ears. A strep test came back negative when I saw my doctor, and he said it was a virus and there wasn't anything he could do, but it's been a while now and I'm freaking out. Not to mention I have no energy and have an overall feeling of just crappy. Should I go back in or just wait it out?

About 3 weeks ago I had a really bad sore throat with swollen glands as well, so I went to my Dr and he said I had a case of sinuitis so he put me on Cipro for 7 days. One day after finishing my medication I got my sore throat right back with alot of congestion in my nose and a slight cough at night so I waited it out for 1 week but it did not go away. So yesterday I went back to the Dr and he put me on Levofloxacin for 10 days I hope this clears it up. Where I live right now there are several viruses going around that are lasting for up too 2 months. My suggestion is if you don't feel better in the next couple days go to the Dr. I can't stand having a sore swollen throat.

My husband, myself & my daughter-in-law all have this virus thing too. It started out with diahrea & that was about 2 weeks ago, one day you feel like you're better & then it's back. Now today my d-in-law says her throat has been sore for 2 days & we all have fever, chills & nausea. This has been going on for now going on 3 weeks. My little grandson had something similar before xmas, he missed a week of school before xmas vacation & then 2 more weeks on & off after xmas. The doc said it was a virus that was just hard to get rid of. I have read a lot about people having this or similar virus right now.
