well he did pap it was normal but uterus was so swollen it was like i was 3 months pregnant but im not i had a lap done.well he was worried and was only going to do a partial ,but went to surgeonright ovary was huge he said so to make long story short im having a hysterectomy a total one.
Im 38 i have had all my kids before i was 20 , 3 sons so not having kids dosent bother me 1 bit haha, all over 19 so now im scared of having ovarian cancer im already sick i have pernicious anemia that has left me damaged, and i have hypothyroidism in witch has my bowels going back and forth from diarhea to constipated but can be a sign of ovarian cancer also, pi could go on and on but wont lol.
I have alot of tenderness around that right ovary and the uterus makes me go to bathroom constantly.
the surgeon asked me if i had any questions i was to scared to ask if it could be ovarian what do you all think and tell me if you had this how you did and what it was.ps.i have fibroids to he told me that.

Hi Sissy,
Well thank goodness you have had all the kids you want. It's hard when this happens to someone who hasn't had any yet, so be happy about that.
The surgery is a piece of cake. It takes about 8 weeks to be able to be normal again but you will feel much better even after surgery. I had fibroids and man it hurt big time every month. With all the problems your having with swelling etc, consider it a good thing they are taking it all out. Less chance of problems later.
I thought it was great, no period, no cramps whooooHoooo. The only thing I would have changed was how I had the surgery done. I had it done vaginally and I should have done it from the tummy even though it takes longer to heal. Your gonna be fine so don't be scared and if you are ask your doc before you go under..Good luck and don't worry. :)

PLEASE DON'T GET TOO UPSET UNTIL YOU REALLY KNOW YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO BE UPSET ABOUT. I TOO HAD A HYSTERECTOMY AT AGE 38. I HAD PUT IT OFF FOR YEARS AND SUFFERED ALL THOSE YEAR UNNECCESSARILY. THE SURGERY WAS NOT NEARLY AS BAD AS I HAD INVISIONED AND BOY WHAT A DIFFERENCE AFTER!! :jester: :jester: NO MORE CRAMPS! NO MORE MESSY, HEAVY PERIODS. EVERYTHING GOT BETTER INSTEAD OF WORSE. YOUR OVARY PROBABLY HAS A CYST ON IT. MINE WAS QUITE LARGE TOO BUT NOT CANCER. IF THE DOCTOR WAS REALLY CONCERNED ABOUT THE OVARIAN CANCER THING HE COULD HAVE ORDERED A CA125 TEST. DID HE DO THAT? KEEP YOUR CHIN UP GIRL. IT WILL BE OK. JUST KEEP UP YOUR MAMMOGRAMS. I DIDN'T AND AT 54 I FOUND OUT I HAVE BREAST CANCER. AM STILL UNDERGOING TREATMENT FOR THAT.

I Have Been In The Operating Room 6 Times In The Last 6 Weeks From Complications Of Breast Reconstruction. I Am What The Nurses In Pre-0p Call A "frequent Flyer". I Can Tell You That They Will Give You Medication Once Your Iv Is Started That Will Relax You And You Really Won't Care What Is About To Happen. When You Come Out Of Surgery They Will Probably Have You Hooked Up To A Morphine Pump That You Can Control. Your Pain Will Be Manageable So Don't Worry Yourself Too Much About That. Keep Your Chin Up. Just Think Of All The Money You Are Going To Save On Pads, Tampons And Birth Control!

I tried to respond earlier, but my post didn't go through. Anyways, I would like to suggest that you visit the ************* site. Just type in www. ww.*************.com[/url], and they can answer almost any question you have. For some reason, this site eats up the words between the www and com, it's *************. I found them extremely helpful when I had my hysterectomy 2 years ago, and they are helping me again right now, as I am having both ovaries out next Tuesday due to problematic cysts... Best of luck to you. If you need to find me, I am Julie B. over there!
Well sheesh! Am I not allowed to type the link here or what?
hyster sisters but you type it together as one word.

I know how you feel as I went through this last year. This web site won't allow posting of other web sites. If a woman wants to get to the best support site I've ever found for this type of surgery etc. just do a google search for hysterectomy support. It should come up there. I agree that it's a great site, great help and the other ************* have all been through it. Go check it out...
