Well, I probably spelled the P word wrong, but I think you all can tell what I am saying lol. I think I am at a plateau....for the past week ½ my weight has been fluxuating between 142-144 on average...just the other day it said 141, but I weighed myself again today and it said 143 (I know, I know, I shouldnt get on the scales that often, I should space it out) But I am just wondering, in general how long do they usually last?? I made a post about plateuos on here before, but I forgot what most people said in response. Will more exercise, reduced and/or increased caloric intake help? Thanks

I think a plateau - you spelt it correctly the first time - should be treated as an opportunity to let your body settle into it's new routine. IMO, the longer it takes to lose weight, the more chance you have of keeping it off and using intervals of weight maintenance can help get your body used to the weight loss.
If you have been on a reduced calorie diet, increase your calories a little and keep an eye on the weight to make sure it doesn't go up. Stop increasing calories if your weight goes up and then maintain your weight for a while. After 3 or 4 months, drop your calories a bit and/or increase physical activity and see if you can lose some more weight.

Sounds like a plateau to me! I've been plateaued for the last 4 months, I fear :( Fortunately, I think I was gaining some muscle during that time, b/c my SO said I looked more toned than 4 months before.
I'm not big on "settling" my body when it's not at ideal weight, yet, so I am still going forward w/my workouts (but changing things around a bit) and hoping that the weight will soon disappear. If it doesn't, I might have to resort to "desperate measures" (XenEFX, anyone?).
That's just my two cents, though! :bouncing:

Wubby, when you hit a plateau, up the ante in your workouts (keep hitting your peak everytime) tell your body we's gonna do things differently 'round 'ere
Let your body know it's under NEW MANAGEMENT, and its not business as usual. :nono: So try changing up your workouts (hit new peaks), and try to change up your meals by trying this . Here's a suggestion that I read :
^^^^Have a month where you do (4 on, 2 off - 4 days of the week you eat the way you have prescribed for your diet and for 2 days, you eat a VERY HIGH PROTEIN LITTLE OR NO CARB diet.^^^^^
This is designed to trick your body into thinking something new is going on and adjust to the changes. ___I hope you find something that works. :)
