I am on my second week of Diovan 80 to help lower moderate high
bp. I've started having dizzy spells that seem to come out of the blue.
I've heard so much about the lack of side effects of this drug that I asked
my doctor to switch me after going off Norvasc.
Is dizziness a common side effect of Diovan in the beginning and will it eventually subside? If not for the dizziness I feel good. Thanks.

Your b/p might be getting too low on that strength. Check it on a regular basis. That might be the cause

Autumn,
80mg to my knowledge is the lowest available dose. Of course one can always take 1/2 a pill but I doubt you'd get much, if any, BP control. All drugs have side effects, including Diovan. It's just that Diovan seems to have very few and at a lower overall incidence. Headache and dizziness are the most commonly reported adverse reactions with it.
However, these effects generally are mild and transient and have only infrequently required discontinuation of therapy.
Hang in there a while. My bet is that your body will adjust and that this is only temporary.

Thanks, zuzu.
I will keep taking it. So many I know who are on Diovan have hardly any side
effects. That's why I asked my doctor to try it. I'm hoping this is temporary. When the dizziness passes I feel great, so hopefully it is just my body adjusting.
