Does anyone know if 3-OH isobutyric acid is the same as beta-hydroxy butyric acid?

My son recently had some tests done for developmental delays and his beta-hydroxy butyric acid came back elevated. His neuro is leaning toward Mitochondrial Disease as a diagnosis...it's a long story of all the tests they've done and all the avenues we've explored.
