It seems to have worked for me. I mix a teaspoon of cinamon in a glass of water once a day. My peak BS averages have dropped from 280 or so to 200 and my fasting readings were 135 or so, now are 115.

May be a coincidence, but...

BTW, there have been medical studies which show a positive effect. If anyone wants, I will find the links I read.

  I stir cinnamon in my morning coffee. I also stir a teaspoon in my black tea during lunch time. I wanted to try it with green tea but I don't think it would taste good. i read an article about cinnamon in the AArp magazine. :D

Have you noticed a change in your glucose levels?
I did discover that it mixes well with diet Dr. Pepper today. Green tea? Dunno about that one...
I am brave, but I still like my taste buds.

I have heard that cinnamon does work well to lower bs... I have not tried it, but I do like it sprinkled on cottage cheese. I will have to try that and see what it does.

I have been trying the cinnamon. About 1/4 of a teaspoon on my morning cereal or toast helps a great deal. I keep tight control on my bg. The cinnamon helps. A friend of mine is on insulin and the cinnamon has allowed her to reduce the amount of insulin she needs. we are all different. Some people will get more benefit than others. Cinnamon is safe and is worth a try for any diabetic.

ok i just read the article on cinnamon and blood sugar levels it seems you add 1/4 teaspoon daily to your diet and it will lower the levels and not to over use it because then it becomes toxic also an added benefit to this is it also helps lower cholesterol levels witch is also tied in with the higher glucose levels.

I just put a level spoonfull in a large glass of water and let it sit for a while. That helps the super dry powder get wet.

Don't do what I did the first time! I just took a spoon full and tossed it down. I thought my mouth and throat would never be wet again. This is VERY DRY stuff.

After it soaks a while, I just stir it up and gulp it down. I have noticed that twice a day (am and pm) works better for me, as my average bg has dropped from 175 or so to about 130 in the week since I started.

Significant? I think so. Enough for me to keep on swallowing.

Anyone know if this has helped any type 1 diabetics?

I just read about a study on cinnamon. It has just been tested on type twos. It seems to unlock something in fat cells that lessens insulin resistance. It also some how mimics insulin. It probably wouldn't hurt for a type one to try it. What do you have to lose?
