Hi all, just wanted to up date the board....Hubby had surgery today...and the 'mass' was larger than what the cat scan show'd and it also was going down his spine....the Doc was super...and removed it...and sent it to pathology....it's cancer. Somehow, we knew it was....I knw that no matter what, that God is in control...and He will get us thru this...espically since we have found out that the cancer isn't orginally from that series of nodes...BUT from SOMEWHERE ELSE....so now the hunt is on....to find the sorce...and see if it's treatable...and go from there...

one word...IF YOU ARE SCARED AND NOT SURE WHAT THE 'LUMP' IS...get it checked out...PLEASE!!..your life may just depend on it...

Blessings

Hi tinyblessings,

I am very sorry to hear the bad news. Be strong, most cancers can be treated efficiently and big part of them can be cured too.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you two.

Take care...

I echo the other comments but can add that this is the hardest part, not knowing. Once it's identified and your husband is put on a treatment plan, you will be able to manage. There are so much new technology and cutting edge medical breath throughs that don't look at this as doom and gloom. People hear the word cancer and automatically stop functioning. Don't become the illness!

I don't know what part of the country you live in but I have the names of the top oncologists in the states. If I can help you, please let me know. It's always good to get a few opinions.

Keep your faith, that's the strongest weapon you'll have. Become an effective team, it will help and don't be afraid to reach out for help.

I am sure that the doctors will make good suggestions. I am glad to hear that it is not as bad as expected. This is a good start. Hopefully the "shadow" will be something that will not need too much treatment. Take care and let us know how things are progressing.

Hi,

It's good to hear the good news that the cancer has not spread to his vital organs... This usually significantly improves the prognosis!

As for the treatment I don't know but I would readily look up info for you if you mentioned what type of cancer is it. If you refer to this "shadow" in his voice box, it must be diagnosed first, afterwards you would be probably told whether or how it needs to be treated.

Good luck, take care.

tinyblessings,

That is wonderful news that the cancer has not spread. I remember when my friend w/throat cancer got that news. He was crying. I don't know if you have been reading my posts about my friend but he was stage 4 throat cancer, the tumor on his tonsil is too big to do surgery yet but they are trying to shrink it with radiation. He will have 7 weeks and I think chemo just 3 times. He gets a strong dose though and it makes him sick. I think the larnyx would also be treated with chemo and surgery from what I have read. Please continue to pray and have faith that is the best medicine. I will keep your hubby in my prayers. Let me know how things are going.
