Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has had problems with their medical insurance , where they refuse to pay for care and assistance in the home?
I have a friend who has CP and has deteriorated. She requires assistance doing the basic things eg: eating, toileting, showering, transfering, dressing and personal grroming. She spends her days either in bed or in her wheelchair, as she cannot walk, therefore rendering her non-ambulant. she can however weight bear during transfers.
For some strange reason the insurance company say she is ambulant, due to the fact that she can sit in the passenger seat in a car,and so are refusing to pay for any assistance she needs. This is very frustrating for her and her family.
If anyone has had this problem I would be grateful to hear from you, and how this was resolved or who to contact.
Thanking you in anticipation.
