View Full Version : Water in ears no solution?

Can anyone give me any advice
Never even had an ear ach until 18 months ago. Then swimming and showers get water in ear and wont drain out, after a few days starts hurting. Go to doctor give drops like brand floxin. This seems to make it worse since it adds to the fluid in the ear.
Another doctor put tubes in ear and it helped some but tubes would sometime clog up and still did not get the entire fluid out. Well tubes finally fell out and summer season ended so I was around water less. Problem seemed to go away. Now this summer same problem starting again. Use ear plugs if in a pool but I guess only helps some.
Tried allergy shots with family doctor for 6 months with no change. Then went to specialist which was going to cost $40.00 a week for the shot. When the nurse ran the pin sticking test she said it did not show anything hardly at all and the doctor may want to do another test. Well the doctor came in later and said the test showed I was definitely allergic to a few things and needed the shots. I guess the nurse forgot to tell him she had already told me the real results. Doctors seem to be getting like lawyers. And anybody I know that has had a test is always told they need the shots also.
Last year at least 10 times at different doctors for this problem
Any suggestion?
Thanks

Not really advice but if this helps anyone here is what worked for me:

After getting water in the ear from swimming and not being able to clear it/drain it with the old cup your hand over your ear while tilting the head method hand suction method--I went home took a shower washed the hand held shower head with shampoo rinsed it off with the
tub spout then let the water to the shower head then sprayed toward my ear until it felt good then it started to come out of the ear and that is when I tilted my head down to the same eared shoulder and the water flowed out....anyway it worked for me and no infection. The fungus from public showers and pools are scary. I don't reccomend anyone trying this with a hole or previous holes in their ear or previous infections.

Hi. I completely understand what you are going through. I went through the same thing for four years. Can't count the amount of doctor visits, needles, pills, drops and creams I was prescribed. Just this past week I found a cure. I went to a health food store and found "Echinacea and Goldenseal" drops. It has been my miracle cure. It has been a week now and my ears no longer hurt, itch, burn or drain liquid. The first time I put the drops in – it burned like crazy. But that was because they were so raw from probing and scratching. The second day it was better, now I don't even feel it. Of course, you still have to keep water away from them. But I am probably the happiest person in the world. Hope it works for you. Please, let me know if it helped you as well. 2 drops once a day). I usually do it at night and put a little bit of cotton to prevent the drops from draining out.
