I have an 8 yr old son who loves to sit outside for hours just watching the sprinklers. He also has this thing going on where he lines about 40 beanies babies up in 2 columns all facing specific directions and goes through this long list of sessions with them. It takes a couple hours. And if you interrupt him or talk to him, he loses it.Get's really upset. He also hops around balancing on the corners of the table and counter top; back and forth, back and forth. He also hates germs. I hope thsi doesn't turn into the hand washing thing.

I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like some of the beginning of a episode of OCD, cept for the sprinklers thing, which after having a conversation w/ my gf (ontheway), she gave me examples of what he may be feeling, and I'm feeling it's a certain comfort in either the sound of, or even viewing the water coming from the sprinkler head. My gf has some of the symptoms you mentioned that your boy has. I would reccommend for you to consult with a doctor if you're feeling he may be getting out of control in his mind.
