Ok, I am 21 yrs old and I have a normal life. I attend college and I have a regular exercise system taht I do everyday to stay in shape. By the end of the day I am really tiered and I try to go to sleep. Not only am I mentally tiered from all the studying and homework but I am physically tiered walking the campus and doing my exercise rutine. So I try to go to sleep and all these thoughts go through my head and I get to thinking about all these things and it makes it impossible to sleep. Then I get this feeling like I have to get up and walk around or do something. :bouncing: What can I do? I haven't slept good in about a year. Is it a sleeping disorder? Should I talk to my doctor about it? Any advice?

start by getting some books and tapes on relaxation to calm your mind before bed

Beezkneez,

Be sure that you are not ingesting any caffiene after about 3pm or so as it can interfere with your sleep. Exercise is good but do it early in the day, not after dinner. Try to keep as regular of a schedule as possible - sleeping late on the weekends can totally screw up your sleep cycles. A white noise machine might help if you're in a dorm and noise is a problem.

Good luck! I know how frustating it is to not be able to sleep!

Thanks you all. I'll try to do like you say. I've tried some over the counter sleep aids but they seem to work a couple of days and then they don't so....I don't know.
