Hello I was on wellbutrin xl 150 mg started on the 13th and I stopped taking it this past Tues. the 18th, so I was on it for only 5 days. Everyone is different. These meds act different with everyone, no one has or gets the same effects. I had to stop after my Whole I mean Whole family noticed a bad change in me. On Monday night I noticed it to after crying all day and fighting with my family. Everyone said that I was angry and not thinking clear, terrible headache, crying even more and a whole bunch of other things. I was scared and so was my family. I did not feel I was that depressed anyway, but my doctor told me that I was and needed to go on something. I was on Effexor, Zoloft, Paxil before. Effexor was the best for me, but I was only on it for a few months and went off. The withdrawals was terrible. But now I am off all meds and yes I still am a little depressed, but I think I can handle it and at least I am not screaming at my children, husband and other family.
I am not saying this to scare anyone "everyone has good and bad with all the meds" But make sure you listen to your family if they notice a big change in your moods and personality.

Good luck and hope you feel better****

Hi

I've been taking wellbutrin since late January this year. There were probably about 10 days give or take that I would've sworn they weren't working for me at all. My husband would call from work and notice how upset or down I was and say "did you take your pill today?!" I wanted to scream. Sometimes it's like they just don't kick in. That's what I've come to call it.

More than that I take sr 150 twice a day and there are a lot of days when I feel like the first one didn't work but the second one usually does. I count off how long until I can take that second one. I haven't talked to my dr about it because I didn't really think about it when I was there because it was a while since it had happened. If anyone has talked to their doc about it, I'd be interested to know what they said.

I hope it works for you.

I have had the same problems with meds wearing off. I talked to my doctor about it and he suggested increasing the dosage. This bothers me though, if I am supposed to be getting better by taking these medications it seems like over time I would need to lessen my dose not increase it.
I have started to feel lately like the med's are just a mask for what is going on. I felt good in the beginning and slowly it felt like the meds stopped working. This has happened with Effexor, Paxil and Wellbutrin.
Does anyone else feel like the medications are sort of a cover up for depression. I have taken several courses on health in college and when they discuss depression they always talk about how diet and exercise and other aspects of your health can improve depression without medications.

I was on Zoloft for about 2 months and it helped with the depression but didn't last for long, the side effects were awful. I had no energy, no ambition, no nothing! Went back to the Dr and he changed me to Wellbutrin xl last week. I noticed an instant change, I had a new burst of energy and I feel like myself again. The first few days I wasn't hungry but that goes away eventually, I think with all the effects. I'm hoping it will do what the Dr told me, not make me gain weight and help with the anxiety and depression. I am happy so far because I am not exhausted 24-7 and actually wanting SEX lol I have heard allot of good things about it and I am having success so far. Good Luck!
