Does anyone know how long the "light duty" release usually lasts after a microdiscectomy/laminectomy before you are put back on "full duty" work? I had my surgery 2/11, I will probably be given a lite duty work release at 5 wks., on March 20, and I am trying to anticipate how long the lite duty thing continues. Do you have to see the dr. during this time? Thanks.

I was on light duty for about a year. I got my w/c decision in Dec. 2001 saying I am able to return to regular duty. My doctor's wouldn't release me to regular duty. I was terminated in Feb. 2002, with an ongoing appeals case for w/c. Good luck!
