Hi Tracy,
I just saw one of your other posts and noticed that you are from Pittsburgh... so am I! I'm just curious what your situation is (what kind of surgery and/or injury did you have) and what doctors you went to.
Sorry to hear about the job issue--I can't believe they would terminate you b/c your doctors wouldn't release you--that's ridiculous! I've never heard of such a thing.
Anyway, just wanted to say hello and good luck with everything.

I usually don't post that often, I just lurk. I am a nurse and worked for the government at a VA Hospital. I was injured when I was transferring a patient from a litter back to his bed. I have herniations at L-5 and S-1, DDD and an annular tear. The IME doctor said that my injury had happended in a car accident I had 4 years prior to my injury of 2000, go figure! So, w/c went with the IME and third party's decision and ignored my doctor's findings. I am currently in the appeals process with w/c now..... All I can say is what a PIA! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dizzy.gif No surgeries yet, I am not ready for it.

Hi Tracy http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif
Sorry to hear you are another victum of w/c but join the club http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/mad.gif
I have been battling w/c for almost 2 yrs. now. they give me the ttd then take it away, give it back take it away nothing but a vicious circle.
Do you have an attorney? If not GET ONE IMMEDIATLY.
w/c will continue to jerk you around until you have one but even then they try to still jerk you around but at least your attorney will deal with them directly and you wont have to.
I too have had IME (twice) and this last time, he said that I could return to work light duty 8hr aday 5 days a week, mind you I have not even been back to work since aug of 2001, and the dumb Ime said to start me back full time, well I called my attorney and told him I refused to go, for one, there was no way I could start out with full time work I would have to be eased back into it, he left the decision up to me and I stuck to my guns, called my employer and said I would not be comming to work due to the fact that my primary neuro still has me deemed totally incapacitated, they took all benefits away, but then my att. is hitting them with 5 bad faith claims, and miraclsly then started paying me my ttd weekly and re-instated my checks, tough s---, I am still following with the bad faith claims, they take away my benefits about every other month. So by all means hire an attorney, like yesterday. hope this helps, also a very good posting by successtory subject is about a workmans comp. petiton its a couple pages back look it out, read and sign it if you feel its a worthy cause I for one feel it is the best petion for people dealing with work comp. let me know how youre doing and if you got an attorney, good luck, http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/love1.gif

Hi. I signed the petition that successtory posted. I do not have a lawyer. Since it is a gov't w/c case, nobody will touch it. Only one lawyer in Philly will. His retainer fee is $2000.00, along with the $200/hr. In addition, we would have to pay for travel expenses and lodging.
