I'm new to this board, but have been reading some of the posts and was wondering about Chiropractic help. I have CTS in both wrists. So far, the night braces are helping and so is the Bextra. I am considering surgery but do have some reservations about it, maybe use it as a last resort if necessary. Anyhow. does anyone use a Chiropractor? If so, how much has it helped? Thanks in advance for any input.

My Chiropractor told me she could adjust my wrists but we haven't done it yet. I'm going to have her do it this week and see if it helps my hands quit going to sleep constantly at night

I had carpal tunnel surgery a year ago on both hands - what was I thinking - I went back to work the next week - although it was very painful. I do not know if that caused the promblem or not but I developed trigger finger in both thumbs and ring fingers. I have had shots and been on anti- inflamitory drugs ever since - I wake up all during the night with my hands aching and fingers locked in a bent positon. This is very painful and now I wonder if it was caused by the Carpal Tunnel surgery. I made matters worse. The doctor said the two problems are not related. Does anyone else know if there is a way to get rid of this condition? I am afraid of more surgery.
Thanks, Judy B

Thanks All . . . It sounds as if its worth a try, but I will wait a few days. I go to the Surgeon, a specialist in CTS to check into injections or whatever he has to say. I used to go to a chiropracter every week for other spine and health problems, then. . . the company where I work changed insurance and chiropractic care isn't covered, so I quit going.
Hey Judy B . . .Have you tried any of the wrist sport braces, mine seem to work well. I wear them on both wrists while sleeping. I don't wake up with the pain as I have for the past few months, and in the mornings I have a little pain and some tingling. Nothing like it used to be. Anyhow, I got the shorter one first, they helped a little, but were cheaper. So a few days later I got two of the lace-up, longer ones, (about 20.00 each in our area). They help stabalize my wrists and thumb a lot better and seem to be provining some relief, and hopefully healing. I'll keep you guys posted.
Thanks again, and have a nice day All.

One question! Have you seen a massage therapist?? These professionals work really well to relieve a lot of the symptoms. Carpal Tunnel is (as you all may know) a compression syndrome of the median nerve in the hand. CT can be cause by tight muscles in your neck! Why go through surgery if you haven't tried all of the options available? It will take a couple of visits to feel the results, but it's awesome

Tishea, Ive got a question for you. When u say chiro's can "relieve" alot of the symtoms, do u mean for the long-term (heal) or just in the short-term (relieve)? What i mean is can they actually make u "fully recover" or just short term relieve you. Because that would be mega expensive to keep going to a chiro if they aint gonna fully heal ya. Know what i mean?
