View Full Version : Silver Cap?

Several months ago infact it's been almost a year I had and old cap replaced as I had a cavity underneath it. My dentist had an oral surgeon come in and cut away some of my gum in the back to allow a better fit of new cap.
But ever since that, I get an irritated gum feeling where that was done. Last molar in back.
It feels like when you floss a tooth and hit the gum to hard. Just a bit irritating or annoying. I guess I am always aware of this and noticed I chew on my right side and after a meal that is when it bothers me. I floss, I use a water pic and rinse with warm saltwater. This helps and somedays nothing.
I was wondering if it possible that I may be allergic to the silver cap?
Or if anyone has had this procedure did it bother you like this. I am so sorry I ever had that done now. But i watch it close as I am a diabetic and they say you have to be careful with your gums. I guess I worry as I have never had any problems with my teeth like this before and I have had a several procedures done with no problems.
