I will have 2 wisdom teeth extracted, one will be done with surgery due to the impacted wisdom tooth, the other one will be extracted normally. But, I am wondering about the cost of these extraction because I dont have dental insurance. The dentist told me that the cost will be around $600 for both teeth. Please help me out here...

Nana

If that price includes some type of sedation (such as IV sleep) then it seems pretty good based on what I've seen. If it's a novocaine only deal, then it could be kinda high. It really depends on lots of things, though- including where you live.

Thanks for replying. I believe what the dentist will be using is novocaine because he told me that I will be awake but I wont feel anything while he is doing the surgery. Meanwhile, the dentist is located in Flushing, NY.
I have one of my friend who done the extraction before, she did in MA state. She was charged $250 for one wisdom tooth.
I need some opinion from experienced people so I will know the estimated cost for doing this extraction.

I just had two teeth extracted by an oral surgeon and I was put to sleep for the procedure. Mine were just regular molars, but one had an extra long root on it that almost went to the sinus cavity so that's why the oral surgeon. Anyway my total bill was $300.00. I don't know, but $600.00 seems a bit high, especially if you are not going to be put out. You might check with another dentist or oral surgeon. Never hurts to shop around a little. Good Luck and hope this info helps a little.

I had four impacted wisdom teeth removed while I was totally asleep. Each tooth was $250 and the total bill was a few hundred over $1000.

My son just had 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed - each tooth was a different price depending on the severity of impaction - in other words, the harder it was to remove, the more money that tooth cost!!!
He was put to sleep AND they used novacaine and the total bill was $1300 - I live in South Florida.
Good luck.

I just got all 4 of mine out about two hours ago...they were all erupted, so the procedure wasnt as bad as I thought. All I had was novacaine, and really, I couldnt imagine getting put under anesthesia for this procedure...it wasnt bad at all....I paid a 118.20 copay when I left, which was 20 percent of the total which would be...give me a minute here...591 dollars.

I had all four of mine out on the 15th and the total came out to a little over $1,000.00
BUT because of my lovely insurance (THANK GOD) I had to pay only $230.00. :D
