Hi,

I find that after sleeping with my C-Pap machine, that I tend to have trouble breathing normally for about an hour afterwards. It's almost as if I'm not getting enough oxygen, if that makes sense? Does anyone have this problem with their machine or their breathing? Is it possible that I'm getting too much air from my machine, causing me to readjust after I take it off?

Also, does any have problems with their sinuses?

if the mask only covers the nostrils and you sleep with the mouth open, the CPAP machine cant work, a chin splint may help, some tape up their lips which isnt recommended

I dont' think you understood the question. I am not having problems sleeping with the c-pap, and I find it hard to believe that anyone can sleep with it with their mouths open(I've never been able to it.The air pulls your mouth shut).
I'm saying that AFTER I go off the machine, it seems like it takes time for me to readjust to regular breathing, as if I'm being overcompensated on the machine.

How long have you been on cpap? I know the sensation you're describing. While you're asleep, you've adjusted to breathing against the air pressure. Once you wake up it is normal to feel that way. It sounds like you're new to cpap and I think you will get used to it and won't notice it after awhile.

Yes!!!

I am new to Cpap, only using it now for a little over two months. Sometimes I don't feel it, but other times, it's like I'm working overtime to breathe after getting off the machine. I'm glad it's a matter of time and not me or my lungs!

Thank you so much! :) :)

P.S. I have to admit, I've never knew what a good night's sleep was until the machine.
