First of all, yes I'm going to go to the doctor as soon as I can. I'm really worried in the mean time. I wanted to know what to expect and what ideas you guys had about the problem.

This is kind of embarassing and a bit graphic. But I can feel a lump between my butt cheeks close to the rectum, but not right by it (closer to the area of your butt that would touch a chair if you were sitting down, which makes it painful to sit on hard surfaces). It is large and painful. Close to two inches in diamater? I thought it might be hemmorrhoids because I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome a few years back. And I have been doing heavy lifting. But hemorroids are in the rectum and this seems to be more in my actual body.

There is no anal bleeding and not really any constipation. Just pain, and it is warm to the touch. I think I read somewhere that there are lymph nodes near there, could swollen lymph nodes create such a hard lump?

I'm making a doctors appointment tomorrow, in the mean time I will start taking fiber pills to help it if it is an inflammed hemorrhoid. I do have a diet high in fiber already, I'm a vegetarian. But if it is a hemorrhoid I think it was caused by my heavy lifting. (I just moved.) I'm only 20, so I'm hoping it's not anything cancerous. :(
