Ok a little BG info on me, I don't have medical insurance, but will go to my states free clinic, my problem is this im 23, 5'10 and around 380lbs, the last time I went to the Dr.s office my BP was 190/110.....I take my BP at home and it's not white coat, my bp has steadily increased because I have taken up smoking yet again, I have swelling in my ankles and feet along with some numbness, I did have high cholesterol, and was wanting to lose weight and lower my BP any suggestions? I have been trying to lose weight but I think a lot of it might be water weight or something, i do get pains in my arms, and when I go to the ER for visits they suggest bp lowering meds, but EVERY doc thus far has NOT put me on any BP lowering drugs they say it's a normal BP which I highly doubt. Please any help :\

The ER doctors are not able to prescribe for long term, that has to come from your regular doctor/s that you see at the clinic and have your records. The ER doctors see the need for BP medicine, and yes you are in need of it, flat demand to be put on some! You should also be on cholestrol medicine if it is high, seems, edema has set in, the swelling in your legs, ankles, feet region, and that is serious. Losing weight will help, but your at the point that you need medication now.

You are heading straight for trouble and need to take control of your life at once. Quit smoking immed. Sad part abt smoking is that i have chain smokers give it up in a day but only after a heart attack. Do yourself a favor and stop immed. Also you may like to consider stomach stapling to reduce weight. You need to lose around 200 pounds weight and this can be done only by surgery. please do look into this. Worried abt you.

Take extreme care

I have to disagree about the "stomach stapling being the only way to lose 200 pounds". People have lost over 200pounds many times before without surgery, but it takes time, patience and determination.

I do agree that you need to quit smoking, that only adds to the hypertension.
Also, I hope a doctor will start you on medicines.

Love,
Ginger
