Hi,
To cut a long long story very short, :) I in the past have glandular fever twice and hepatitus (A) (I think), the non-killer one, I had 2 anathesetics and have not recovered (this was 10 years ago)...
Symptoms since: Fatigue, permanent numbness, visual probs, memory probs, tingling/cold limbs, which are getting worse.
I have been tested for MS and apparantly i don't have that and the doctors are stumped.

The only thing at the mo that is showing up is high crp levels and my protein levels are three times normal amount, I think it might be the IGG level (not sure if it's all the proteins).
(I have had thyroid tested too)
Any suggestions on any illness which my neurologist may have not explored?
I also have real hormone problems which have always been unstable which I think has added to my current situation.

Let me know if you have any ideas for me to ask my Dr to test for!!
Thank-you, I look forward to hearing from you!!

I'm not sure if you have been checked for other autoimmune problems, but I'd sure ask your doctor to do an ANA, a Rheumatoid Factor, a sed rate and a complete blood chemistry and liver function panels. I'd get a second opinion on the MS, too.

What tests did they do to rule out MS? There are a lot of Neuro guys out there that really don't have a clue about MS. I have MS and CVIDS so can answer some questions about both. Keep us posted!

Hi Penny and Teacher,
Thanks for replying. The Dr has ruled out MS becuse the MRI showed nothing (this was 2 years ago though and since then I have become worse)
The Lumbar punch showed up raised proteins but not the O..... band or whatever it's called, that and the bloods is all I have had tested. They have recently offered me an EMG and another electrical nerve test but I have to be honest I am a real wimp so am putting them off at the mo.
The reason they say I don't have MS is that they said I would be a lot worse now i.e I would have problems walking etc. I have worked so hard to stay as well as I can all these years..I don't eat wheat/gluten or dairy/refined sugar/red meat and take lots of supplements. I feel so much better when I stick to diet and nose dive when I go off it...I just can't shift the numbness whatever I do and the visual problems are still causing a problem the fatigue and memory things I can cope with. I think the diet regime could be a reason if I do have MS to why I am not visably ill.

The neuro is testing me for vasculitus and thinks I might have that but I looked that up and the symptoms are not similar to mine at all, I don't have rashes and it doesn't say anything about numbness so I have no idea where he is getting that illness from!

I will ask them for the blood tests you have suggested and see what they say, I'm sure they will not say no to doing them.
I will keep you posted thanks again for the response

What kind of eye problem do you have? If you have an eye occlusion then that is probably why doctor is investigating vasculitis and/or hypercoagubles.

FYI: Gluten problems stem from celiac disease of which I do not have nor know much about.
