 Im in a drug trial because I dont have insurance and cant go to the doctor like many others, so my meds are very limited to seroquel and depakote. Im currently on 1250 depakote supposed to be taken all at once and before bed, 800 mgs of seroquel, 300 in the morning and 500 at bedtime. all of a sudden my feet and legs are really swollen. they hurt so bad. The people in charge of the drug trial say it must be congestive heart failure. im 32 years old and have never in my life had any symptoms of that. is anyone here on that? and can offer some advice. im just so confused, i did start taking the depakote through the day instead of all at once, and start a diuretic, seems to be helping some, but not much

I'm sorry you are experiencing pain. I am also taking depakote - 1500 mgs per day. 1 in am 2 in pm. I was taking Seroquel until last Monday. My feet started hurting first, then moved to my hands. Within a couple of weeks, the same pain in my back and legs. The pain was so bad I went to the ER 2X last week. They say I have liver imflammation. Could be caused by hepatitis or the meds. I don't think mine is due to the depakote. I have been on it for almost 8 years and I had a liver fxn test right before I went on the Seroquel. I looked up the side effects of Seroquel on the PDR on the web and under rare side effects, I have 10 of them. My psychiatrist does not think it is necessarily the Seroquel. Only time will tell. As for now, the pain accompanied by extreme fatigue is what I am dealing with. I hope you get better real soon.

I am aslo on Depakote(1250mg before bedtime) and serequol(100 after dinner around 5) and zoloft(100mg in the am) and I havent had feet or hand pain.. although I do have back pain but I have had that for sometime now since a few years ago I got hit while walking down the street by a drunk driver.... anyways that is besides the point. My drs. have told me about the effects they can have on your liver I aslo get blood work done ever few months to make sure that everything is ok inside. The ER doc did not tell you what it was? Shouldnt they know that kind of stuff? That is why we pay them. I hope you are feeling better soon...
Until Next Time,
Lauren

No kidding. We pay big bucks for healthcare and I don't feel I'm getting my money's worth.
