Just thought I would say Hello ...Good morning more like it... even though I havent gone to bed yet.. Ive tried numerous times... Im just not tired... But it is normal for me. I have to force myself to go to sleep very night.. I take serequol but I ran out so I didnt have any for last night. :nono: so here I am watching the sun set and rise. I am bored out of my mind... :dizzy: I already read a whole book and I can barely remember what it was about except for the fact that I read it already. There is nothing on tv and even if there was it wouldnt hold my attention long enough anyways. I feel bad waking anyone in the house up. But I def shouldnt be up by myself. Way tooo much time to think and it is usually neg. thoughts. (((Off topic.. I finally decided to go back to school yesterday my mind is made up I am gonna do what ever it takes to get through it this time. ))) ok back to me b*tchin I feel like i dont even need the sleep. Although I KNOW I do. Any suggestions to help me sleep...it is falling asleep that trooubles me the most. The serequol keeps me sleeping(100mg)? Ok well I am gonna go for now.... give this sleep thing you guys talk so highly about a try.
Until Next Time
Lauren

It seems to me that your current meds are not controlling the mania side of the disease.
I hate to see "go to sleep" meds piled on top of mania because it's not taking care of the real problem.
I'm sorry that I don't remember right off what other meds you are on - are you on an actual mood stabilizer?
If you're not not a mood stabilizer INSIST that you be put on one.
It can take a few weeks but things should even out.
If you ARE on a mood stabilizer I'd try another one...

Is depakote a mood stablier?.. that is what I take 1250mg... I also take zoloft100mg and the serequol..... thanks Ruth!!! should mention that dr just upped depakote to 1250 (was on 1000) so maybe it needs to kick in?
I actually just tired to nap for a while . I slept about an hour and woke up shakin, and with loss of breath. (normal anexity attack for me) but I always have them when I nap. and I really need the sleep right now...
until next time

I know how it is to go without sleep. Seroquel usually has put me right out im on 800mgs I take 500 at night, lately though if I take 500 at night it doesnt help like it had in the past, but if i take 600 at night I can not get up in the morning, titrating to a new dose takes a while for seroquel. But I hate seeing my mania returning this way. So I might not have any answers for you but I know how you feel. Oh and on a side note my Drs. told me that 800 mgs of seroquel was the maximum

Tell your doctor that you've read that Zoloft can actually kick-start mania in Bipolar patients who take it. Zoloft is an SSRI and the procuct information will actually mention this!!
That may be what's causing the sleeplessness/mania - There are anti-depressants available that are NOT SSRI's....
See what he says, and let us know - ok?
