My current job has me working from 3am to sometimes 10am or till 11am. this would be do-able but my boss also has me working 7am till 3 in the afternoon on alternate days. I cannot sleep and when I do I get around 3 to 4 hours per night. I am up from midnight all the way through the day. I feel like I am a zombie.
I have asked my boss to just have me work one or the other shift , but she just says "sorry". I can't take it anymore, I feel like I am going crazy. I also have a husband and 3 kids and all the responsibilities this entails.
Any advice is appreciated.

your problem is very common, our time clock can be confused, darkening the bedroom and wearing earplugs may help

Sounds like you've got it rough. It is possible for shift workers to cope with irregular hours, but when your hours change it's very difficult. What would really help you is a regular sleep/wake time, every single day. You also have to have a dark, quiet place to sleep. No phones, no tv's, no noise or anything else to wake you. This works fine for someone who lives alone, but you have a family...so the ultimate solution would be to find another job, or atleast start looking. And your boss isn't going to work with you on it...so yes, my advice is to just take your time and find something else with better hours.
