Hello:
I transitioned from 13+ years in IT/IS (computer programming) to Home Healthcare Nov 2003. I have my NA-R and nurse delegation for Washington State. I work for an adult family home for Altz. / Demen. residents. I make just enough to squeak by. :(
Learning the Caregiving ropes in an AFH setting has been "great", but I'd be very interested to hear what seasoned Caregivers think about working for a staffing agency, as well as working in the private sector (directly with the care recipient).
For the private employ, what is needed in the way of legal / paperwork when one negotiates with the recipient? How do the wages compare? Pros, cons?
Thanks much!
Bob

Thanks SnowyLynne for the comment. Over the years did the agency have a pay increase scale or ? Also, did you know of people who moved from AFHs or private to the agency and why the did?
