Hi all! Just wanted your advice on what you thought about my condition. For the past two months, I have had a popping sound when I swallow in my right ear. An ENT tried several antibiotics and medications and nothing seems to help. He said that if it does not clear up that I will have to have tubes. :(

Just recently, I was prescribed zoloft for depression/anxiety and after 4/5 days on it, I developed ringing in my ears. I thought it would go away and proceeded with the medication. My dosage increased after day 7 and the ringing got louder. After talking with my nurse practitioner who prescribed me the zoloft, I quit the medication after 10 days of taking it. I have heard that meds (even anti-depressants) can cause tinnitus. Is it likely that it will go away after a while? I have not taken the medication in 2 days. I can take the popping, but the ringing is pretty annoying and scares me. I am flying home tonight and have an appt. with my hometown ENT for a second opinion on the popping. Thanks in advance for any advice.
