Hi Everyone I am new to the board but so glad to find it!!! Well I recently got results of mri back and found out that I am not the lazy hypochondriac everyone thought I was. (lol) I have lubar spinal stenosis with bone spurring and severe cervical stenosis with spurring and myelopathy. (lumbar 3 levels and cervical 3 levels) Anyway, I am off to see a neurosurgeon friday and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect and if anyone else has spinal stenosis in both cervical and lumbar areas and how are you managing? I have been miserable for over a year now.

Welcome! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif

I just have lumbar spinal stenosis. I never considered having surgery to correct it (my recent surgery was to repair a herniated disc), but my mother-in-law's boyfriend (who is in his 70's) did. You can read about the surgery he had at www.spine-health.com/topics/surg/overview/lumbar/lumb04.html (http://www.spine-health.com/topics/surg/overview/lumbar/lumb04.html) .

A good page on cervical spinal stenosis with myelopathy is www.spine-health.com/topics/cd/overview/cervical/cerv03.html (http://www.spine-health.com/topics/cd/overview/cervical/cerv03.html) .
