Hello everyone...I Have been going for years with chronic back pain..I Just recently went to re hab where the therpist said my si joint was out! It scared me to death but I felt I had finally figured out what was wrong. After 8 years of them more less saying it was all in my head I welcomed her diagnoses. After all I had ever test almost know to man.Emg's Mri,mylogram, cat scan, epidral injections, facet injections with no relief and them saying it is just a bulged disk.So with living on pain pills and going back and forth to drs,I decided to take this therpist at her word and find some kind of treatment for this.I went today for a si injection and My leg is numb and has been for 10 hrs now.It numbed the si joint at first pain is coming back Now any suggesions?Has anyone ever had the si joint fused!P.s My feet are still turning purple all the way up to my knees and my legs are spotted with pink and purple color and the dr who did the injection said he was gonna have to talk to vasuclar surgeon to see if he had ever heard of this.My opinion I think the si joint is pressing on a artery or something...Anyone have these problems?

Hi lilmisspriss and welcome! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif

First of all, I was laughing when I saw your callname. My brother used to call me that throughout a timespan over 20 years ago (hehe) sorry...brought back some good memories there, thanks! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

I was talking to hubby about your case (he's been in medical field over 23 years) and he's never heard of what you describe. However, his own father had hip replacement surgery something like 40 years ago or so and has had circulation problems in both lower legs since that time. He suffers from various skin discolorations, sores that won't heal, and atrophy -- all below the knee (and has been rising recently).

I was doing a little research and I HIGHLY recommend you go to it to check out something I found. Go to spineuniverse.com and type in Avascular Necrosis in the search field. It makes sense if the S1 joint was damaged...hurting the blood vessels in that area, could cause skin discolorations and splotches. It is a circulation issue for sure.

Another thing I might suggest...look into your diet. You really should try a homeopathic therapy (eating au' naturale!). Or acupuncture (better for the deeper issues like I think yours is)..if not--then maybe acupressure (no needles and done fully clothed). Another alternative healing art you may want to try is Reiki. It is a hands-on balancing therapy. Super relaxing if nothing else! hehe Hey, that sounds good. Time to relax. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I hope something here helps you out. Good luck to you.
