Hi Everyone,
I called and made my appt for the bonding and they can not get me in
for a month so after hanging up I thought well if I wait till that
appt to make the appt for my first extraction I will never get this
done so I called back and told the woman I wanted to make several
appts cause I need to get alot of this done this summer and she made
me one more appt. and he is talking about pulling one or two at a
time and I have 15 to pull.. So I have this ex cousin in law that is
a dentist that uses sedation and the anti anxiety pill that is about
30 mins from here and I did not go to him in the beginning fearing
his cost.. His extractions are 108 a piece where this other dentist
is 75 and his partials are 1400 a piece compared to the others at 400
a piece.. I wonder what the difference is in the partials w/ them
being a thousand dollars difference...But the ex cousins
advertisement says he can do more in one appt than other dentist can
do in 6 months because of the sedation so that would work and save me
alot of time w/ this other guy..The ex cousin also accepts my
insurance where the other one I was going to have to do it myself and
I have a no interest for a year credit card I am going to do the
difference with and this guy takes credit card and the other doesnt'
and the ex cousin has financing.. Marti if you read all this I was
wondering how much implants are individually... I could get by w/
four on top and not have to get a partial.. this guy does everything
braces, implants, root canals,extractions.. but he does put that alot
of it is case by case kind of thing..Do they have to do something w/
your sinuses? everytime someone get upper implants or is it different
w/ differnt people...Marti do you know what the best kind of partial
is.. I will only be keeping 2 teeth on bottom and my bottom teeth
doesn't show much..I welcome anyones advice on what yall think..to go
to someone near by or to get it done alot quicker and spend a little
more... I also talk to someone that uses the orthodontist my daughter
is going to have to see and she said he will see your child every
six months and not charge you anything until the day they get the
braces and he doesnt' like to do them until they are 12 so that gives
me five years to get mine paid off till she get hers.. I was really
afraid that when we went to her appt. next month that she would have
to get them sooner and I could not figure out how I was going to pay
for hers and mine and that was why I was trying to choose the
cheapest way for me...

Hi Lee. Not everyone need to do something with their sinuses. You just have to have enough bone thickness to anchor the implants, and the older you get, the more your sinus cavity expands which reduces the thickness of bone the implant doctor needs to anchor the implant. ONly x-ray can tell if you need extra bone below the sinus area. It also depends on how long ago the teeth you are trying to replace with implants were extracted. You may need bone grafts to place the implants, because as soon as you pull the tooth you bone starts to resorb or sort of get very thin. I don't know what part of the states you live in, it seems to be cheaper in Florida for some reason, but here in Ca, 4 implants with just minor bone grafts, no sinus augmentation with 4 crowns you are talking about 10000.00. A regular partial here to replace 4 teeth would probably cost 4000.00 I imagine. You say your ex cousing does a partial for 1400.00, but it's for how many teeth?? Normally a partial's price varies according to how many teeth it replaces.I think here in California is more expensive than the rest of the States. An overdenture anchored to you own natural roots is very stable, preserve the bone, and is a little more than a regular full denture, but it's worth trying. Why don't you start with a regular bridge for the 4 teeth you are trying to replace, and go for implants a little later in life.I just replaced teeth that had been extracted 25 yrs ago with implants. I just needed more bone grafts because I waited so long. HOpe that helped a bit good luck Marti
