View Full Version : Obsessed with being watched!

Hi there everyone,

One of my many obsessions is an odd one. I don't know of anyone else who has this one.
I love being watched and being the centre of attention. Obviously in the real world this doesn't happen, so I make sure I'm being watched by putting the image of my favourite actor of the moment (james spader at this time) and just sit there or do aerobics being 'watched' by his picture. I know, deep down, that his picture isn't really watching me but I get a buzz out of it just the same. By the way, I can't put calenders or posters up (because 1 I am married and 2 I don't like being watched at inopportune moments, like when I look a mess)I take it that seriously!!! It's as if they are really there and give a stuff about what I look like. I know it is mad.
When I was young, it used to be Elvis and I used to take his picture with me everywhere!!
I should have become an actress!!
I know this sounds absolutely ridiculous and it is, I just find it hard to stop doing it and getting a buzz out of it.
Any thoughts on this?

I can kinda relate to what you are saying. I have pictures in my room, and I sometimes daydream about them, thinking "are they actually watching me". I think it's a little different for me though, because thinking about this sparks off a whole trail of thought (ocd thought) that usually ends up making me feel paranoid that I am being watched all the time. So, whilst you get a buzz out of it, I myself don't. I guess I don't really have any advice for you, I just wanted to let you know that I could at least relate in a small way.

I am always thinking I'm being watched. Even with nobody around like in an empty elavator or walking down and empty hallway. The worst thing is I sometimes have thoughts there are hidden cameras in my appartment.

Oops I forgot my worst one. ANY store I go into I think they are constantly watching me on camera.
