Hello,

I am suffering from an extremely severe sunburn (2nd degree burns on 10% of my body), I am fair skinned but I have been in the sun every summer since birth and I have never had any experience like this.

I am wondering if anybody has information in regards to medication increasing sun sensitivity and the severity. After trying to find the cause of why I have such a bad burn I realised that one of my meds (Anafranil) lists sun sensitivity as a possible side effect.

I have narrowed out a great deal of factors but if this burn is in fact due to the medication I want to cantact the maker to have them put a more stern warning on their packages. Granted, I should have been more diligent in regards to side effects, I just want to make sure users are more accurately warned.

I am starting to recover from the physical pain but I may have permanent scaring on my hands and face.

Sorry this is so long, I am just trying to find all the info on this side effect!

Thanks!

Yes, I'm sure it was the meds. Sorry to hear what happened.

years ago I had this problem with birth control pills and got terribly burnt. Now I have it with my maxide. I just slather on sun screen and grab my hat and it is working so far.
