I clench my jaw constantly, alseep, awake. I'm sure many of you suffer from the same thing. Has anyone ever found a way to reduce it or stop? Meds, therapy? Anybody with some insight? thanks guys:)

I do also you should get a splint made by your dentist and you wear it on your lower or up teeth 24/7 it will help. I don't have a splint but I have alot of pains so prouble will be getting one.

I clench my teeth all the time without realizing it. I used a mouthpiece for a while but my gums started to hurt so I stopped using it but while I did wear it, it did help with the clenching. Just make sure if you get one made, that it's a good fit to avoid the gum problem.

Did you just started taking any medication? I am on Effexor XR and the first 2 weeks I noticed that I was clenching my jaw all of the time, which was something I had never done before. As my body adjusted to the medication, the jaw clenching stopped.

Man, I do the same thing...I have went through about 4 devices (settled on the nti device), went to tmj specialist, had my teeth aligned(that helped)...But the one thing that completely stopped the grinding at night was lexapro...good luck...

Thanks for the thoughts everyone. I have a mouthpeice for nighttime, But I never wear it. I hate it, I have dreams that I have a full mouth, and need to spit!!!! Also, it isn't very attractive, when I lean over to give my girly a kiss at night, I look like silence of the lambs! I just started with Lexapro, maybe that'll help. I also heard taking somas at night helps.

I do it day and night for years. Maybe that why I get so many headaches. Its one of those things I just can't stop

Yeah I clench/grind my teeth (at night) too.
I use a mouth guard or night guard, whatever you call it, from my dentist.
You get used to it after awhile.
But I do find it odd that no one has posted the most obvious remedy (depending upon just how badly you grind your teeth, of course). For some, it may be a definite medical condition that causes them to grind, but in my case it's anxiety probably coupled with the meds I'm on.
Anyways, something that has helped me out is meditation. I still wear my mouth guard most nights to be safe, but I have found it helps.
Specifically, a "scanning meditation" which involves identifying the areas of your body that are tense and then relaxing them one by one.
I often found that I would clench my teeth without even realizing it. As soon as I made myself aware of it and made it a point to recognize it as much as possible and invoke 'relaxation' it has substancially been reduced.

Depending on your case, mindfulness and meditative techniques can help.

I do this too, mainly during the day though. I was told it was a side effect from SSRI's.
