you might be getting GERD or acid reflux from stress, look it up on the net, it causes burning in the throat

a large dose of any valium type med will calm you and let you go shopping

I've been getting a really thick tight feeling in my throat also (affected the back of my neck and shoulders also). I don't know why... Whatever I have..anxiety disorder or whatever (never got a diagnosis because I have a problem believing psychotherapists can help me) is affecting me more when I leave the house. Even if it's someplace I used to go all the time (say for instance the drugstore), now I have problems going.

(I hate talking about this subject lol)

When you have panic attacks, on evolutionary terms, it's a way to escape from a perceived threat, ie. the flight end of the fight or flight mechanism. All the things you feel have a logical explanation in caveman days, but in our modern society the mechanism has remained and become outdated. We're rarely ever in any serious danger these days.

When you gag or vomit it's because your body stops digesting food and wants to get everything in there out as soon as possible. This is to conserve energy to run away from your threat. Also, if you vomit, you look less attractive to predators :)
