I took orthotricylcen for a few months and had severe mood swings....and I became very down which is unlike me. I actually got off the pill b/c of all of the side effects from Ortho. Has anyone else experienced depression and moodiness from ortho? Thanks for your help! :)

I've been on Ortho-Tricyclen Lo for about a year and a half and I believe that it has made me moody (up & down). It sucks, but I've gotten used to it. Talk to your doctor about changing your rx if it bothers you.

I am on Orthotricyclen LO and personally do not experience mood swings or depression. However, it is mentioned in the leaflet that is packaged with the drug so I suspect that for SOME individuals it CAN be a very real side effect. You might want to talk to your doctor about switching to a different drug.

I was on both OTC and OTC Lo and was very moody and cried for no reason. I couldn't snap out of it. Now I'm on Seasonale and love it. It's the only BCP that I've had no side effects with. Good luck.

I was also on OTC and twice in my life I had moodiness problems. First time, I got very depressed and cried for no reason. When I went off the pill it went away. Second time, I experienced bad anxiety. Again, went off the pill and it went away. Each time I had been on it quite awhile and when I started it again later I didn't have problems. I think it started to get to me after awhile.
