hi
I have GAD (genralized anxiety disorder).
Which started off with me having a virus..then panic attacks now GAD.
I too was tested for my thyroid..and it acually was swollen at one point too.
As my doctor explained to me..some viruses can cause thyroid swelling.
It's great that you are having your checked..as it is best to rule out all causes. But in my case thats not what was wrong.Let us know how it goes..and if it is your Thyroid..there is a great thyroid board here with lots of helpfull people.Hang in there ;)

to rockers, dont fear panic attacks as they cant harm you and if you get any more, theres no need to go to the ER
get some books and tapes on relaxation and stress managment, try to ignore your heart
