Hi, last night I went to the emergency room because I was in so much pain. when I called my doctor she told me I may have a tubual pregnancy..........so of course I went to get it checked out. They told me that I have and ovarian cyst thats about 3 cm. I may have to have it removed if it continues to be so painful ( I even feel the pain shooting down my thighs!) My question was if I am actually ovulating or not? was wondering because I have a history of not ovulating.

Please reply, Thanx

Its hard to tell you can have cysts without ovulating.

I have had surgery for a cist before and also have 2 cists right now. All woman get cists on there ovaries. They come from ovulating, the only thing is most cists go down with your period. In some situations the cists do not go down but continue to grow with ovulation each month. My doctors both times have put me on birth control to try and control the cists but unfortunatly it didn't work the first time and it is not working now. To answer your question you are most likely ovulating because that is where cists on your ovaries normally come from. I hope this has helped. Keep us updated.

I just ended my AF and I still have cramping. Do you think my cyst has not gone down?

It usually takes a couple of days afterward to see if the pain has subsided. Remember your period can put a big strain on you when you have something wrong down there it can ake a few days to recoup.

yeah that is pretty normal afterward but it should go away soon. If not than I would go back to the doctor.

I used to get cysts pretty regularly in high school and college until I went on bc pills, no problems for years now. One was so bad I thought it might be appendicitis, so I went to ER, that's what finally convinced me to give bc a try. I hope it resolves soon, it usually takes a month or two for the bc pills to affect ovulation in a regular way to prevent cysts and if you alrwady have one, I'm not sure if it will help that one.

Hi-

I just happened to glance at this board. I am told I am in the process of miscarrying HOWEVER was also told from ultra sound results I have a fluid filled cyst in my ovary. Now i am wondering could this have showed a false + for all pg tests. Blood & urine? My body mostly breasts feel like I may be PG but the last few periods they have felt this bad. My pg hormone level at the highest was 177 and 4 days later it was 167. this hsows in the 1-3 week range. But I know it would have to be farther along than that. Any help would be great or if you need more info let me know.

Thank you All!!!

First, for Sarah, I have been on bcp for a while and I want to get pregnant now so I really dont want to go back onto them. Actually I got this cyst when I was on the pills. So thats a no go.

De Lou who told you that you are in the process of miscarrying? I know that cyst sometimes can get so large that you can look like your pregnant. I also know that it makes me sooooooooo nausious and yesterday even if my period just ended I felt so heavy and like it was comming right back.

Hi Bella-

I did a hmpt. It was + went tp the dr. 1 week later urine and blood showed +'. Ended up in the er where they also confrimed it. Talked to my Dr's ast. the next day I had an ultra sound at the er the ast. said it could be my body tricked it self into thinking I was pg. Talked to my dr. 2 times and had blood work since that day.I went from 177 4 days after the er to 167 4 days afterthat, By rule they say it should double. the hgc leavel that is. So here I am still bleeding on and off. I was on Bcpill. I just did not tkae it for a month and well I showed + on all my tests. And My Dr. said at first when the bleeding started it could be a twin pg. and I lost one and now she said I am m/caring. So that is where I stand. I was told when you take BC this should avoid the cysts. For 6 yrs I was on the pill except for the one month when I was to lazy to pick it up. And since I hardly say the DH...... So I guess leason learned and leason to be learned for all who wonder how long it could take to get pg after stopping the pill. In the past it took me years to get pg.

So I hope after all my early morning blabbering I answered your question.

Take care and that yyou for your prompt reply.
