[size=1]i Started Have Seizures 3-20-04.the Er Doc Said All Test Are Normal.(eeg, Ct Scan, Mri Etc). The Spell Continued. 4-09-04 I Was Hospitalized Due To Having A Spell In The Docs Office. I Have Done All The Testing And Second Opinions They Asked Of Me. The Stress Counselor Feels I Don't Need Therapy.
Since My Eeg Came Back Normal In The Hospital, I Requested A 24 Hr Eeg While At Home. My Neuro Said It Probably Would Show Normal Also. This Is Frustrating
My Spells Go On. This Weekend I Had Numurous Spell Back To Back For 3 Hrs. And At Least 1 Spell Daily This Week. I Feel Exhausted Because Of The Spells.
The Docs Said It's Pseudo(fake) Seizures. I Can't Agree.

Phoebe, In A Previous Thread You Mentioned You Had A Normal Eeg. Then At Sometime Was Diagnoised. The Stress Counselor Said The Docs Should Put Me On Meds To Control The Spells. I Am Going To Sampsons Clinic In Santa Barbara The 15th For A 3rd Opinion At My Request. I Care For My Local Docs, But Im Tired Of Feeling Like A Guinue Pig!!

So sorry that they have not found answers for you! It is hard to beat the psuedo label once you have it, but is possible.


It is possible to have a normal EEG and still have seizures. YOu need to see if you can get to an epilepsy specialist. YOu did not describe what your spells are like, but having a Psych say you did not need therapy may help you.

I Forgot To Mention, I Have An Appointment For A Hormone Specialist Next Week .my Level Of Cortisol Is A Bit Low. Maybe Some Answers!!
My Spells Vary,but They All Seem To Start Out The Same.
Things Slow Way Down. I Start To Go Into A Dazed Like Stare. My Family Can Tell By The Look I Get. They Get Me To A Safe Place. I Need Assistance Walking Because I Have Gone Down Several Times. Speech Slows, Then No Speech. Muscle Weekness. I Can Most Of The Time Hear, But May Not Make Since.
1. From This I Could Simply Go To Sleep For Hours
2. I Could Lie Down And Go Into Head Movement Side To Side, Eyes Closing And Fluttering,one Side Of Body Starts Movement(arm & Leg). Usually One Sided Headache.
3. More Recently 2. Includes Body Stiffiness, Drooling, Not Swallowing, Tongue Out Of Mouth, Inside Of Bottom Lip With Those Little Sores Or Blisters. I'm Not Sure If I'm Biting My Lip.

I Can Get A Reddness To My Face And Neck During Any Of These. I Feel As If Im Going To Pass Out.
Dizziness And Can Happen During Any Of Them Also.


Thats The Most I Can Recall. My Family Trys To Explain The Spells So I Can Relay It To The Docs.

I hope the Hormone doctor can help you! It is so frustrating to have these things happening and not know what it all is.


It sure sounds like a partial seizure, but many things can sound similar I think. You can look on misdiagnosis *** com and see if there are symptoms there that match yours....

Thank you for your reply. I am also going to Sansum's clinic in Santa Barbara the 15th. I will be staying 3 days. Hope to get some solid answers there.

I Went To The Hormone Specialist. No Real Answer. He Stated He Thought It Was Not A Hormone Level Problem. I'm Going To Sansom Clinic In Santa Barbara Next Week (3 Days).they Are Supposed To Be Good At Getting Answers To Hard To Crack Cases. I'm Crossing My Fingers!! Maybe They Will Do A 24 Hr Eeg. The Reports I Recieved From The Local Hospital Stated No Activity During The Seizure.
The Eeg's Were Never Ran During A Spell.
