Hello, new here, just needing to find somebody, anybody who may give me a lead.

I am having hormone imbalance problems. I am on 25mg of progesterone daily and it was helping until I took an antibiodic two months ago and now everything is screwed up again.

I am completely unable to lose weight. I need 25 pounds gone and am doing everything known to man/dr/woman. I exercise 5 days a week, 2 miles a day on tredmill in zone, 3 days weights/pilates. I work with nutritionalist and can barely get my 1300 calories in a day. I don't drink alcohol, caffeine, smoke, etc. I am on low carbs, drink 64 + ounces H2O daily. Thyroid been tested, am right now I am at the end of my rope with my periods.

Anyone know anything, give me links, give me free advice. I am going nuts here. Sharp pains before flow begins, odd spotting and occassional clotting. Fatigue getting worse, complexion getting very wierd, hot flashes evened out for a while, but coming back, mostly more like facial flushes :o that leave me with uneven skin tone for half hour. My symptoms could go on and on and I want more info before I go back to dr. I feel there is something not right, I think Dr. thinks I am just crazy..... swear I am as sane as they come, I think

I have been through some similar stuff with my hormones. I didn't try as hard to exercise but I know now that what i was doing should have been enough. I couldn't get the weight off because of what I believe to be my hormones. My doctor put me on yasmin which is a bc pill. I completely balanced out my hormones. I have lost 18lbs by eating right and walking 2-3 miles a day. Maybe you could see if birth control pills have a better level of hormones for you. I hope this helps.

has your doctor talked to you about the possibility of pcos? they can do a simple blood test to see if you have it. good luck and i wish you the best.

I was in the same boat as you and started doing some research on thyroid and inability to lose weight. I was exercising constantly and eating very little, but still the scale would not budge!

Even though you got your thyroid checked and the tests said it was normal, it could still be borderline low. I started experimenting based on my curiosity about thyroid and things I had read. I started taking natural Armour thyroid even though my tests came out normal. I noticed a huge difference after about six months. Ten pounds slowly dropped off and my energy levels increased dramatically. My depression also lifted. Also, because I am 50, my gyno prescribes a testosterone patch. I also use progesterone cream. I have found with the combination of these three things, I feel like a teenager again. My sex drives are back, my depression is gone, and I have energy to burn!

Doctors are not always right and do not always listen to a patient's symptoms. If necessary, find a different doctor who will do an entire thyroid panel, including free T3, and possibly let you try some natural thyroid based on your symptoms. You might want to see if you can find someone who believes in alternative medicine, like an osteopath. Good luck!

I Agree That The Thyroid Needs To Be Looked At And Even If The Results Are Within Normal Range, She Still Could Be Hypo - Actually The Lab Values Were Changed Yet Many Md's And Labs Do Not Use Them

By The Way, What Kind Of Testosterone Are You On?? What Are The Symptoms Of Low Levels?

Thanks

I use androderm patch. My women gyno prescribed it. It's made for men,but since they won't approve something for women, this is our only choice. I use the low dose one and so far, I have nothing but good results. My doctor told me that if I do start to notice some masculine side effects, all I have to do is stop using it for awhile. A few times, I skipped a day or two because I was constantly thinking about sex and couldn't concentrate at work. :D

If your estrogen levels are too high, it will cause the problems with weight loss.

You can get a compounded testosterone gel at about any strength for about 1/4 the cost of the commerical gels & patches. Use a USA compounding pharmacy. Two or three are on the internet, but you have to have the doctor send a prescription. I get one twice as strong as I need & only use half a dose. The cost is about the same as the correct dose.

This is interesting... I am curious if my symptoms are for depression or this hormone thing... Can someone give me an idea??

I have gained a TON of weight and not being able to lose it no matter what I do
No Sex Drive
but yet I have the symptoms of depression like irritability, lack of energy etc

Could it be a combo of both??

How is the compounded testosterone gel working for you? I was considering trying that in lieu of the patch, even though I'm pretty happy with the patch. Thanks!

It works better than the commerical pak & is 1/4 to 1/8 the costs.

I just rub a little on the skin at the thin skin places on the body.
For female it is the clitorus area usually. Males is high inner thighs.

For female it is about 1/10 as much as males. The compounded T comes in a small bottle with a applicator that measures the amount you want.

Good luck
