I was wondering if anyone has experienced this. I've had a couple of episodes of waking from sleep feeling hyper and feeling like my whole body is shaking or rocking, but I don't think it was. it gradually runs down and goes away.

How old are you? Is your body actually shaking and rocking, or does it only feel that way? Around what time of night does it happen?

I'm 33. It just feels like it is rocking and shaking. It almost seems like it's not strong enough to move my limbs? I have had a tremor in my left ring finger before. Didn't have that all over feeling then though. It occurs about 30-90 minutes after I go to sleep - which is late. I have a hard time winding down to go to sleep. I'm trying to get a diagnosis with a thyroid problem which can cause tremors, but my bloodwork is saying I'm normal. I've never experienced this kind of sensation before and haven't a clue on what it could be. The closest I've come up with is tremors. Oh, and I do have sleep apnea, but I've never heard of something like this in relation to something like that. Any ideas? Thanks for your response!

How long ago were you diagnosed with sleep apnea, is it mild moderate, or severe, and is it being treated?

Diagnosed in november, moderate, and I use a CPAP with no known problems. My doctor and I are considering another sleep study to check how well it's working. I know it's doing me some good. I don't feel so extremely sleepy anymore. Felt like I was on the verge of collapse before I got the CPAP.

Well that's good your cpap therapy is working. I can't figure out what the trembling may be.

Thanks for thinking about it. I'll keep searching.

I have experienced this many times and it is very scary for me. I just wrote a post about it in the heart disorders section. The title is "Fast heart beat and body shaking". It's a horrible feeling but it does usually go away within 15-30 sec. or so. Wish I knew what it was.
