My right ear has been clogged for the past couple weeks, and it's driving me crazy. I can hardly hear out of that ear and it's constantly ringing. It was like this one morning when I woke up and hasn't let up. I've kindof been having problems with my ears since about a year ago. Nothing extremely serious, but annoying. I noticed that the gunk in my head - earwax? mucus? i have no clue - kindof migrated back and forth, depending what side i slep on. A *lot* like mucus in your nose when you have a bad cold. My right ear was always more prone to clogging, so I would always sleep on my left. That one night I slept on my right, and it clogged. It's shown no sign of letting up, and I'm freaked out that it might be permanant. Is there no way to get rid of it besides going to a doctor

The same thing happens to me once in awhile and I go into the doctor and he takes a syringe with warm water and cleans them out. It makes a world of a difference.

Do you really have to go to the doc? That seems kindof... unecessary isn't really the word.. over the top, maybe. Is there any way I can do something at home?

Just get a syringe....a somewhat large one, about 5 or so inches long, an inch and a half wide (you can buy them at mostly any drugstore), fill it with very warm water, put your head over the sink with the ear you are cleaning out pointing down, and put the syringe to the opening of your ear and squirt the water in, wait for it to drain out, and repeat the process for about 20 minutes. If it is wax build up, then this will help SO MUCH! It won't hurt, it will just feel a little weird. But, there's no reason going to a doctor when you can do it yourself! You can add a little peroxide to the syringe if you want ....that will help to clean it out a bit more. :)
