hi all,
i just got the report from my son's VEEG report and the neuro didnt explain any of it to me while we were in pittsburgh..(see "well tomorrow is the day for results") post. i dont know what any of it means or understand anything so i thougth i would try here for some help till we see his pediatrician on the 16th. ill try and sum it up without missing anything.
"the patient was awake for an adequate prior of time during the tracing. the posterior backround rhythem with the patient awake and eyes closed was a moderate voltage of 70 uv, 9Hz activity that was reactive to eye opening. during the tracing he became drowsy with backround slowing. he entered sleep stages I and II sleep."
" no interhemispheric voltage or frequency asymmetries were noted. eilepiform discharges were noted as #1. generalized 3-4Hz spike waves activated by sleep. #2. C3, C4 rare sharp waves in sleep."
here is the summery of it all,
"this was an abnormal tracing for age and state due to #1. generalized spike/wave, activated by sleep. #2. C3, C4 rare sharp waves in sleep. focal epileptiform discharges indicate focal sites of cerebral hyperexcitability which can be associated with siezures of partial mechanism. generalized epiletiform discharges indicate sites of generalized cerebral hyperexcitability which can be associated with siezures of generalized mechanisms"
i would really appreciate any help on this what so ever. thanks ahead of time for the help if any.
