I have never had a swollen node, so I may sound strange, how large can a swollen node be - my inguinal ligament sticks out, there are no defined, separated nodes that I can tell - it just looks like a four or five inch protruding ligament. I have no other symptoms, no sweats, nothing. I am very physically active, every now and then it feels like a pulling feeling when I bend or lift. Any thoughts?

To answer your question, nodes that enlarge due to serious infections or cancer especially lymphoma can form relatively very large masses, generally between 3-10 cm.

I don't think your complaint has anything to do with this forum. You sound completely healthy. Consult your GP.

Good luck
