hi everyone,
sorry to ask this but i can't seem to find a thread that explains how to make and use the garlic oil and how it has helped anybody.
can you use any kind of oil?
how much do you use, how often...etc.?
still bitter and trying to move on but in the meantime a couple of weeks without an outbreak would be nice (and helpful) since i've only had it since january and i've had ob's almost constantly since then.

thanks

Spunkygirl ~

Sorry about your luck, but now you're "one of us", which is truly an elite group. But, you have come to the right place for info. & support. Go back and look for posts from Backpacker....she's got all the info. you need on the garlic - thing. I, myself can't use it....can't handle the antipasta salad smell....instead, I use spray aloe vera gel, (down there) which seems to help, it stings @ first, then feels soooooo much better. I do take garlic tabs - orally. But, I still feel like I get very little time between ob's, which kind of sucks....But, when you think of the alternatives, it's really not that bad. 1st. ob was in 10-03, probably had about 9 of them since then. I 've been thinking my immune system sucks, oh well......Just one more thing to deal with...Hope this info. was helpful.....Take care and good luck, -Ornament

It's easy to make garlic oil. Take one clove of garlic (that's one section of the head you will buy at the grocery store) and quarter it. Do not use "elephant garlic" as this is not as potent. Put the pieces in a small container with a tight-fitting lid. Cover with olive oil. Or hemp oil, if you have it, because it's very healing! Let it sit for 2 hours or more. Then just swab it gently around the area whenever you feel like it. Keep the lid on in between. I toss mine out after my ob has gone away, and make a new batch every time I feel I might be getting one. It doesn't keep me from getting ob's, but helps them heal and makes them feel a lot better, so I can go on living my life!

okay, do you dab it on sores when you're having an ob or before, do you pour it on. does it only help with healing or does it help to prevent symptoms as well?
thanks everyone

I have found another way of making garlic oil. Get a few cloves of garlic and throw em in a juicer blender together with some extra virgin olive oil. Turn the switch on and in a few seconds u have the garlic oil paste ready. I assume its best u can get out of garlic and mix it with oil. Its really potent and u can save it in a bottle for later use(however do not forget to wash the juicer thoroughly, otherwise your fruit juice will smell garlic).

I have also read that dry henna powder gets em dry quickly if placed on the outbreaks, havent tried it though.

Thanks.
