Hi  i have probably contracted HSV-1 when i was 15 yrs old coz i remember it was around that age when i first experienced this tingling, burning sensation on my lips and then a day after that i noticed a fluid filled bumps that turned into a sore. they look really nasty and i had it on my lips. at that time i had no idea it was herpes and certainly would not have thought so coz i was not sexually active until i was 19. i have always wondered how and where could i have got it. although now i know that we can possibly get this virus through casual contact like a simple hand shake. now im 26 and married and im very careful not to pass this thing into my beloved hubby :D. since then i get about 1 or 2 outbreaks in a year and they just occur in one spot. and when it happends, the thing that bothers me most is that it looks really awful and i feel so concious coz its right on my lips or around the area. mine usually last around 7-10 days. this virus is probably one of the most common a person can possibly get in her/his lifetime but its a sad thing we cant get rid of it

so im wondering how many outbreaks do you guys have in a year? is the genital herpes more annoying than oral herpes? or it all depends on how bad your outbreak is.
