I don't even know why I'm writing this, but I felt it's something I wanted to share. Let me first say that I am absolutely the last person in the world who is nutrition-conscious. I reached a point in my life where I knew I needed to make a change. My health was more important to me, than my desire for certain foods. The weight has been piling on and my flares have gotten more frequent. I did join a local gym, but the weight wasn't coming off, especially since my joints always hurt too much to work out properly. One dr. wanted to give me fat-blocker pills, but I refused. So, while I was at an all time LOW point in my life, and at my all time HIGHEST weight, I finally made a commitment to change my diet. I said my sad farewell to soda, bread and pasta, fried foods and yummy desserts. I switched over to low-fat and no fat foods, learned to drink water, eat fish and chicken (the healthy way) and reaquainted myself with fruits and vegetables. I've been eating like this for less than 3 weeks and not only do I SEE the change, I really DO feel better. My body feels better, I'm able to sleep better and the indigestion is completely gone. I still am fighting some joint pain and fatigue, but I guess that'll take some time. My clothes are a little roomier now (yeah!) and I seem to smile a little bit more. Although I do miss those great tasting foods, I realize they are my enemy. I wonder if the foods we eat really do impact the way we feel, be it mentally or physically. I have such a L-O-N-G way to go, but I wanted to share this early part of my journey. Shari

Way to go, Shari! Your news inspires!

My husband just did this, for a different medical reason. Like you, he said he felt the difference in less than one week. Amazing, huh?

(sign me) Cooking more broccoli than I ever have in my life---and eating it, too! Vee
