Hi Zuzu,
My allergies are bothering me big time. Can you suggest any meds that will not aggravate my hypertension? Thanks to anyone who knows.

Sunny,
If you're talking about prescription antihistamines, I take straight ALLEGRA, which is safe for hypertensives.
ALLEGRA-D is a no-no due to the decongestant (pseudoephedrine) component in it. In general anything with ephedrine should be avoided.
Others here will probably have some other suggestions too.

Thanks, Zuzu, that is what I thought I remembered...that the decongestants are the things to avoid for those of us with hypertension.
Lately, my BP is going up again, even with my increase in Diovan...I now am on 160 mgs. My alternative doc had recently started me on alot of supplements to help to increase my overall energy at menopause and one of the supplements was a very concentrated B vitamin and that apparently, according to him, can also cause the BP to go up because it increases adrenal function. ( Actually, I am dealing with low cortisol levels, so we are trying to increase cortisol and adrenal fucntion, without increasing my BP.) Anyone else dealing with that strange set of circumstances?
Thanks again for your kind and helpful answer.
