Hello All,
I was just wondering when i can start exercising "normally". Right now i walk and i do some laying down leg and knee exercises. I really want to start doing Pilates next month and i also want to do some cardio. I've been looking into something called "The Firm". Next month will be my 3 month post fusion. Is that too early to start exercising? I will be asking my doc also, but i just wanted to know what you all thought.
Thanks
God Bless http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dance.gif

Hi Alison http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif

My doctor started me at pt after 6 weeks. Until about the third month, I was limited to the pt exercises and walking. At the fourth month, I started at a gym with stationary bicycle; treamill; some weight machine (which did not exert my back to much); and swimming. Unfortunately, I found during my exercises I had a hardware problem in my back which required the right side screws and rods to be removed after 7 months post-op. You will definetly want to discuss any exercise limitations with your doctor and your body will tell you if you are doing to much.

Good luck http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/t_up.gif
