Tummy's not feeling too good lol. I talked to the lady doing the myelogram yesterday and she said to make sure I take my pain medicine and muscle relaxers before the tests. I suppose this means I'm not getting any iv demorol. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dizzy.gif Sheeeeeeeesh. I don't understand why if you don't have to be alert for the myelogram , why can't they sedate you pretty good? http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/yawn.gif
Oh well no sense fussing all morning, just do what I got to do. I probably won't be able to post when I get home, they said I have to stay lying down with head elevated to prevent the headache. Accident at work March 24, 2003
Diagnosed with strained back and given 3 weeks PT
Continued pain -sent to neurosurgeon MRI showed bulge at L5- continued PT
May appt showed no improvement and increased weakness in right leg. Ordered Myelogram and EMG on May 28th

Lisa...good luck today! I hope you aren't too nervous and they don't hurt you to much. I am curious of what they do when they do a myloegram. So when you are feeling better please let me know how it went!

Well guys , here I sit and getting no tests today , don't know whether to be happy or sad. I wanted the results of the test terribly. I called the nurse to ask a question and while I was talking to her, she asked me to hold on , she came back and said the girl who does the EMG test was sick and going home. So with them wanting me to have the EMG and Myelogram on the same day she has rescheduled me for June 18th.
I also got upset because she said my upper back was going to have to be treated as a whole different thing through my insurance since W/C said they weren't handling my upper back. I'm sooooooooo frustrated. I've never had not one back pain in my life until this fall. The upper spinal pain is most definately part of the accident. My nurse said she even told the girl at W/C that it was noted in my notes of upper left shoulder pain. And they are still refusing to pay. I now have my pinky finger going numb and I have lost skin sensation down from my elbow on that arm. I'm going to fight with them tooth and nail. I swear,,,, they know good and well that this is all part of the accident. I also haven't had my knee treated from the accident. I'm just worn out from trying to make sure that I get treated and back to 100%. I can't even get on my knees because I can't put pressure on my right knee, the side I fell on. During my accident I was jerked into the air, pulled out straight and twisted landing all weight on my right knee. The W/C could check every health record I have from infant to now and see I've never had a back complaint or knee. I'm sure W/C has to be careful, I'm sure there are people who would take advantage of them.
But if that was the case they should look back a year ago when a child wrapped his arms around my neck lifted her feet off the ground and placed all her weight on my neck. I had a W/C case then,( only because we have to report every accident at work) and I had an X-ray that showed inflammation,,, and they gave me muscle relaxers and pain meds and sent me on my way. I went back to work the next day and didn't even get paid for anytime off,didn't even take time to take the meds like I was supposed to, even though I was still in pain. I didn't want the school paying out money for me , if I could get back to work quickly. If I wanted W/C to pay me , I could have bulked then, but my main goal was to get back to work. I love my job !
Now that I have a serious injury and loss of movement and numbness that is controlling my whole life right now , actually making me a prisoner of this house, they want to bulk and say oh well on the paper it says lower back.

I just called her and she said she's going to have another W/C adjuster to look over the records and get back to me. I told her that I just wanted to get well and that if they don't treat the whole problem, how will I be able to do that?

I've written a book here, but I'm just furious right now. I'll probably check back here tonight after I've defused lol. Thanks guys, for all your support and understanding. What would we all do without it? Lisa http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
